Mann Collects Medals In Masters Swimming
SARASOTA, Fla. – Tom Mann of Jamestown, representing the Sarasota YMCA, won 10 medals, including six individuals, at the Masters Swimming Tournament at the Sarasota YMCA last month.
Mann came in fifth in the 200 medley relay and the 100 butterfly, sixth in the 200 freestyle relay, and eighth in the 1,000 freestyle, the 200 breaststroke, 100 backstroke and the 50 breaststroke.
Sarasota won three team titles in the 36-team field.
Overall, Sarasota had 5,185.50 points; YMCA of Chesapeake Bay, Md., 1,798,50; Wilton YMCA of Connecticut, 1,321.50; South Hills YMCA of Pennsylvania, 975; and Schroeder YMCA of Massachusetts, 940.
In the Men’s Division, Sarasota was first with 2,871.50, South YMCA of Ohio was runnerup with 547, followed by Chesapeake Bay with 540, Wilton with 489 and Broward County with 483.
Sarasota made it a clean sweep by taking the Women’s Division with 1,888 points, followed by Chesapeake Bay with 1,126.50, Wilton YMCA with 722.50, South Hills of Pennsylvania with 713 points and the Danville Silver Dolphins with 471.
Mann has an interesting upcoming schedule, including appearances at the Empire State Games at Cortland State in June and the Swim Across the Bay on Lake Erie.
