GOP Endorses Young For Re-Election

The Chautauqua County Republican Committee has endorsed of incumbent state Senator Catharine Young, R-C-I-Olean, as the Republican candidate for senator in the 57th District.

Young’s recently initiatives include a new property tax rebate program that was included in the recently-passed state budget. She helped pass the property tax cap to put the slow tax increases and worked to pass the lowest middle-class income tax rates in 60 years. She also worked to phase out the burdensome 18-a utility tax to reduce costs for residential consumers and businesses, and eliminate the corporate tax for manufacturers statewide to create a competitive environment where jobs can grow.

Young also voted for a $1 billion increase in state aid for schools in the 2014-15 state budget and an expansion of the EPIC program to help senior citizens be able to afford prescriptions.

“I am sincerely grateful that the Chautauqua County Republican Party continues to put their faith and trust in me. We have made great progress, and I look forward to continuing my work to restore our economy and have more opportunities for our families,” Young said.
