Republicans Endorse Payne For Chautauqua County Sheriff

Russell Payne of Frewsburg has received the Chautauqua County Republican Committee’s unanimous endorsement as the Republican candidate for the position of Chautauqua County Sheriff in the November election.

Payne has a vast amount of law enforcement experience. He served on the Jamestown Police Department from April 1973 until his retirement in September 2003. He had risen from patrolman to the rank of detective and identification officer, which he held at the time of his retirement.

Payne served as a Court Security Officer with the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Department from June 2000 until April 2004.

He served as senior gaming inspector for the New York State Racing and Wagering Board Casino Division at the Seneca-Allegany Casino from April 2004 to June 2006.

Payne owned and conducted business as Twin Tiers Investigative Services LLC from December 1998 to January 2012. Twin Tiers Investigative Services was a licensed and bonded private investigator service in both New York and Pennsylvania.

He served as town supervisor in the town of Carroll from January 1998 to January 2002.

Payne is married and the father of five children.
