CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

POMFRET – Neil D. Burrs, 35, of Bradford, Pa., was charged Thursday with driving while intoxicated, DWI per se with blood alcohol content of .08 percent or higher and speed in zone. At approximately 8:39 p.m., deputies stopped a speeding motorist on Route 60 in Pomfret. The driver – Burrs – was found to be intoxicated. He will appear in Pomfret Court at a later date.

SOUTHERN TIER REGIONAL DRUG TASK FORCE

ALLEGANY – Thomas R. Stanczykowski, 30, of Allegany was charged Thursday with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class B felony. After a several-month investigation conducted by the Olean-based Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force into the sale and trafficking of illegal narcotics in Allegany, Olean and Salamanca, officers executed a search warrant at 4387 Route 417, Apt. 1. Approximately 3 ounces of cocaine were seized with a street value of approximately $8,500. Five thousand dollars in U.S. currency was also found, along with scales, a large quantity of pills, weapons and miscellaneous paraphernalia. The investigation is ongoing and more arrests are expected. The Task Force was assisted by members of the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office Road Patrol divisions.

ELLICOTT POLICE DEPARTMENT

Tammy J. Gilbert, 42, of Celoron was charged Sunday with endangering the welfare of a child. A 13-year-old juvenile was issued an appearance ticket for Family Court for third-degree criminal tampering. It is alleged that the juvenile walked into a Celoron business and tampered with the store owner’s property. Gilbert will appear in Ellicott Court at a later date.
