Grateful For Food Donations
To The Reader’s Forum:
The Westfield Community Kitchen is deeply grateful for your continued support for it’s simple (but not always easy!) mission: to feed people, no questions asked.
We have been doing this for the last 21 years, with the assistance of the United Way and the Food Bank, various charitable foundations, community organizations, businesses, churches, and individuals who contribute time, talent, and treasure.
In the past 20 years, the kitchen has served over 186,000 meals, and 8,539 just last year. We have 20 wonderful volunteers and one staff member. The Westfield Community Kitchen is open and serves lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.
As our local economy becomes ever more difficult for those of us living on the margins, the need for the kitchen’s nutrition, health screenings, socialization, and outreach services increases. And so we go to the well again – YOU.
Financial donations (or food or goods, call to inquire) are always needed and welcome. And there is always a need for cooks, including prep cooks – no experience required. If interested, please call Sharon or Mercy at 326-2055.
