Denora G. Aiken
KENNEDY, N.Y. – Denora G. Aiken, 81, of County Line Road, Kennedy, passed away at 7:47 p.m., Sunday, May 4, 2014, in Kennedy, in the home of her son, Jerryl, while under the care of Hospice, and with her family by her side.
She was born Oct. 5, 1932, in Forestville, N.Y., the daughter of the late Ernest and Grace Warner Nie-man.
Mrs. Aiken was a graduate of Little Valley Central School. She married Jerome S. Aiken on May 31, 1952, and was a homemaker. She later worked as a home health care aide for Staff Builders.
She was a longtime member of the Little Valley United Methodist Church. Denora loved her family dearly and enjoyed spending time with her large fam-ily and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her interests included gardening, crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles and baking.
She is survived by four sons: Jeffrey Aiken (Cheryl Visker) of Randolph, Jordan Aiken and wife, Jodi of Kennedy, Jerryl Aiken and wife, Tammy of Kennedy, Joel Aiken and wife, Paulina of Falconer; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
In addition, she is survived by a sister, Edna Johnson and husband, Albert “Bucky” of Little Valley; two brothers: Warner Nieman of Southport, S.C., and Walter Nieman and wife, Marlene of Steamburg.
She was preceded by her parents; her husband, Jerome on Nov, 4, 1991; a infant brother, George Nieman; daughter, Annette Aiken in 1969; and a grandson, Zackery S. Aiken on July 24, 2001.
Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, May 8, 2014, in the Van Rensselaer & Son Funeral Home, 14 Church St., Randolph. The Rev. Joe Pascoe, pastor of the Little Valley United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Randolph Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Wednes-day in the funeral home.
