Mayville Seniors To Meet May 15

MAYVILLE – On May 1, 48 members of the Mayville Seniors met for lunch at the VFW dining hall. Bonnie Johnson, vice president, welcomed everyone. Diane Goodrich gave the invocation. Mary Carlson called table numbers.

Johnson led the salute to the flag and asked for committee reports. The secretary and treasurer reports were read and accepted. Carlson gave the birthdays for May as Izetta Ayling, Rose Marie Maulding, Lois Sandeen, Sally Liberto and Barbara McManus, life members. Others are Larry Ackerman, Mary Johnson, Clara Dunbar, Emma Spacht, Jackie Paddock, Nancy Tornstrom, Robert Smith and Karen Keulh-Heston.

Anniversaries for May are Wayne and Clara Dunbar, Paul and Juanita Holthouse, Jeff and Sandra Wagner, Gerald and Beverly White, and John and Christine Krull.

Jeff Wagner said the Senior Council is having Trivia Day at Stow Senior Center on Thursday. All are welcome.

The kitchen committee of Louise Richir, Fran Miller and Dolly Gilbert were thanked by all.

After lunch, Money Bingo was played with Jeff Wagner as the caller.

Bill Tornstrom, Program Chairman, stated that the next meeting will be May 15 and the guest speaker will be Doug Marshal, from the town of Chautauqua, who will be speaking about the Historical Society, and the Davenport Brothers, famous illusionists who were originally from Mayville.
