Clymer Baseball Team Edges Panama

CLYMER-The Clymer baseball team (2-3, 2-3) eeked out a 6-5 Division 2 West win over visiting Panama on Monday thanks to five strikeouts from winning pitcher Mitch Einink.

Einink finished the final three innings for Clymer after Andrew Heil got the start and had one strikeouts and five hits in one inning of work.

Jake Wiggers tossed a pair of innings in the middle of the tilt with four strikeouts, four hits and two earned runs.

Wiggers had a triple and Heil managed a pair of RBIs with his two hits.

Eric Schutte pitched all seven innings for Panama with seven strikeouts with eight walks and seven hits given up.

Ricky Eddy had two singles, a double and a three-run home run. Schutte was 3 for 4.


SINCLAIRVILLE – Behind Ryan Johnson’s three-hitter with seven strikeouts and two walks, Brocton was able to stop Cassadaga Valley (1-2-1-3), 15-4.

The game was close until the seventh inning when Brocton scored nine runs to break it open. Johnson had a two-run single and had only one of two hits that inning as Brocton took advantage of several walks, errors and hit batters.

Connor Dolce and Lathan Dunn split four hits for the Bulldogs.

For Cassadaga Valley, Tyler Simpson had a double, Kyle Ruge and Jaquan Watts singles.
