JCC Earns Twin Bill Split On Road

CORTLAND – Ed Dorunda pitched Jamestown Community College (7-20) to a second-game victory after teammate Richard Allen went the distance in losing the opener in a NJCAA Region 3 Division III baseball twin bill against Tompkins-Cortland on Thursday.

Dorunda hurled five innings while giving up five unearned runs with no walks, a strikeout and seven hits as JCC prevailed, 17-5, in the five-inning nightcap.

In the opener, Allen pitched a complete game four-hitter, striking out three and walking two as the Jayhawks lost by a 4-1 count.

Chris VanNote had a big day for the Jayhawks in the second game with two doubles among his three hits, three RBIs and two runs scored. Steve Saltz also had three hits, including a double, and three runs scored for JCC while David Vanderby had a couple of hits, three runs scored and an RBI.

Jeff Andrulis had both of the JCC hits, one a double, in the first game and Connor Farnham drove him in with an infield out in the sixth inning.
