Forest Ranger Speaks To Ellery Seniors
BEMUS POINT – The Ellery Senior Citizens met April 11 at St. Timothy Lutheran Church in Bemus Point with 16 members and one guest present.
Dave Patchan, Chautauqua County’s one and only state forest ranger spoke about his duties in law enforcement, search and rescue, fire suppression and training/public education.
The slide presentation showing the state parks and cases he has been involved in was enjoyed by all.
A business meeting, presided over by Vice President Jan Anderson, followed with Carol Wickerham leading the flag salute.
Elaine Crossley led devotions. Jack Starks, Moe Stowell and Jo Samuelson celebrated birthdays.
The committee was Kay Crossley and Miriam Price.
Betty Lou Cheney closed with prayer.
The next meeting will be a Mother’s/Father’s Day Luncheon catered by Classic Occasions on May 9. Happy Grams Adult Day Care Center will provide the program.
