Scarpino Wins Four Events In Frewsburg Track Victory

FREWSBURG – Frewsburg hosted Cassadaga Valley and Cattaraugus-Little Valley in Division 2 girls track on Tuesday and the Bears ended up as the overall winner with 81 points, the CLCS Lady Thunderbirds were second with 49 and the Lady Cougars took third with points.

It was a banner day for Frewsburg’s Morgan Scarpino, who claimed wins in four events, including the 100 hurdles (17.3), the long jump (14-0), the high jump (4-6) and the triple jump (30-4).

Also for the Bears, Mackenzie Swartzman was a double winner in the 1,500 (5:25.9) and the 800 (2:42.8).

For Cassadaga Valley, Amber Morrison took two events – the 100 meters (14.3) and the shot put (27-3)

FRANKLINVILLE WINS

FRANKLINVILLE – The Franklinville girls improved to 4-1 for the season with an 80-61 win over Chautauqua Lake in Division 3.

For the Lady Panthers, Cheyenne Staufenberger was a double winner, taking first place in the 100 hurdles (17.4) and the 400 hurdles (1:15.3). Kelsey Brown doubled in the 1,500 meters (5:53) and the 800 meters (2:51.7) and Johanna Farrand won twice, winning the 400 meters (1:09.5) and the 3,000 meters.

Courtney Zentz was a double winner for the Lady Thunderbirds, finishing first in the 100 meters (13.9) and the triple jump (30-7) and Rachel Fortney doubled in the long jump (13-10) and the pole vault (6-6).
