Long Point, Allegany State Parks Receive $1 Million Grants
Long Point State Park in Bemus Point has been awarded a $1 million grant to connect to the municipal sewage system.
The grant award was announced Tuesday as part of $90 million awarded to improve state parks and historic sites across the state.
Allegany State Park also received grants. The park received $500,000 to repair and resurface roadways, and $1 million to rehabilitate the deteriorated Camp Turner Group Camp Cabin Colony.
There were 69 projects across the state that received funding.
“As we celebrate Earth Day, we continue to invest in our parks and historic sites statewide,” Governor Andrew Cuomo said, announcing the funding. “New York is proud to have the nation’s oldest state park system, and we will continue to do all that we can to preserve and guard these natural resources so that they can be enjoyed for generations to come.”
