Doloris M. Snyder

Doloris M. Snyder, 77, of 28 North Saint Cloud St., Allentown, Pa., died at 11:05 p.m. on Wednesday (April 16, 2014) at Phoebe Ministries Nursing Home of Allentown. She resided in the Lehigh Valley area for over 30 years. She was originally from Jamestown, N.Y., area and was born in Corry, Pa. She was the daughter of Lloyd and Lillian Hallett of Jamestown. Her two sisters, Nancy Schuyler of Jamestown, N.Y., and June Smith of Ashville, N.Y., survive Doloris. She is also survived by her husband, Anthony Snyder, and four children: Cynthia Hart of Allentown, Pa., Patricia Hockenbury of Browns Mills, N.J., Martin Moran of Strausstown, Pa., and Amy Schlegel of Ashland, Pa. She had 12 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Doloris graduated from Falconer High School in 1956. She worked for almost six years in the police force as a parking enforcement officer. Doloris also completed nursing school with an LPN degree and worked private duty nursing for over 30 years in both New York and Pennsylvania.

Doloris was a volunteer for the Compeer Program and a member of the Kendall Club. She was also involved with World Vision and was a member of Grace Community Church in Allentown. Doloris enjoyed baking, quilting, bingo, NASCAR races and traveling.

A memorial service will be held for Doloris at Grace Community Church at 1290 Minesite Road, Allentown, Pa., on Saturday, April 26, at 2 p.m. Tributes and donations to the church missions and world vision could be made in lieu of flowers.
