Lloyd E. Schultz

LEON – Lloyd E. Schultz, 87, a retired automation repair specialist for Ford Stamping Plant, where he worked for 28 years, died Thursday, April 10, 2014, at Bertrand Chaffee Hospital in Springville, N.Y.

He was born Sept. 6, 1926, in Forestville, N.Y., the son of the late Harold and Irene (Aldrich) Schultz.

Lloyd served in the Army during World War II having attained the rank of private first class, enlisting on Oct. 26, 1943, at Cherry Creek, N.Y. and being discharged on Dec. 26, 1946, at Fort Dix, N.J.

He was survived by his ailing daughter Gloria Schultz-Smith of Kennedy, N.Y., who died on April 13, 2014.

Surviving are a son, Eric (Lisa) Schultz of Cherry Creek, N.Y.; his grandchildren: Tammy S. Blair of Lakewood, Ginger Farmer of Falconer, Max C. Blair of Silver Creek, Mark C. Blair of South Dayton, Ashley Battaglia of Forestville, Kodi Lillie of Cherry Creek and Kendra Schultz of Cherry Creek; and several great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia M. (Novac) Schultz, whom he married at the Cattaraugus Wesleyan Church on July 10, 1948; and a sister, Evelyn Waite.

The family suggests memorials to the Leon Fire Department, Leon-New Albion Road, Conewango Valley, NY 14726.

Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.
