Former WWE Stars, Local Wrestlers To Appear At JCC

Area wrestling fans are in for a treat as several WWE superstars are set to appear in Jamestown.

After the success of the 2013 Pro Wrestling Rampage held at Jamestown Community College, Randy Grey, organizer and promoter, has decided to bring a followup to area residents.

BPW and Entertainment Group are set to present Buffalo Championship Wrestling’s All-Star Wrestling extravaganza beginning at 7 p.m. Friday at Jamestown Community College’s physical education complex. A VIP meet-and-greet will begin at 5:30, and the doors will open at 6 p.m. Adult presale tickets start at $10.

According to Grey, he’s excited to bring the event back because last year the program, which is also a fundraiser, raised nearly $1,400 for the Jamestown Community College wrestling team. Grey largely attributes the success to the appearance of the Dream Team’s Greg “The Hammer” Valentine and Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake. So, he hopes this year’s lineup will excite fans as well. The night will feature ECW and WWE superstar Terry “Rhino” Gerin and Tammy Lynn “Sunny” Sytch.

“The fans from Jamestown are great,” Grey said. “They are very knowledgeable, and always support professional wrestling when it comes to town.”

The main event of the evening will be a match between Rhino and John “Big League” McChesney, of Erie, Pa. The show will also feature: Brian “Buffalo Bad Boy” Jennings against Tyson “The Cyborg” Dux, The Hate Brigade against The Tops Guns, Troy Buchannan against Warchild, Rex “Retro” Atkins against Ryan “Reckless” Swift, and a future stars three-way match.

Sunny’s role in the event is still to be determined, but she will be available for pictures and autographs.

“The part I am most looking forward to is the future stars three-way match,” Grey said. “These rising stars of professional wrestling are homegrown talent. These young men can really fly, and it’s exciting to see them take their skills to the next level after an extensive training program.”

The three-way match will feature James Booth, of Jamestown, as James Santel. Santel will face off against two Panama High School graduates, Tyce Schneider and Troy Franklin Jr.

“I like that wrestling is larger than life, and it gives you the opportunity to be something more than what you normally are – I love being a character,” Booth said. “I always liked wrestling as a kid, and when I met wrestlers they were always larger than life so I wanted to be that for someone someday. I’m really looking forward to working in front of my hometown crowd. I plan on giving fans more than what they paid for.”

According to Schneider, who wrestles as “Tyson Williams,” the event is a great opportunity to show his skill as a wrestler, as well as to meet some of the professionals he grew up watching.

“I think the event is great,” Schneider said. “To get people like Rhino is great because he’s a recognizable name.”

Presale tickets to the show will be available today through Jamestown Community College’s box office by calling 338-1187 or by visiting Presale tickets will also available before the event by calling Grey at 450-3414. The event will be held at Jamestown Community College’s physical education complex, 525 Falconer St. in Jamestown. For more information, search for “Buffalo Championship Wrestling” on Facebook.
