Fisher, Wright Shine For Falconer
ALLEGANY – Josh Fisher and Mackenzie Wright won two events each as Falconer Central School finished third in both the boys and girls divisions at the annual Gator Relays at Allegany-Limestone on Saturday.
Fisher was first in the triple jump (40-5) and 110-meter high hurdles (15.7) while Wright claimed the top spot in long jump (15-8) and the 100 (50.4) for the Golden Falcons.
In the boys team standings, the Golden Falcons were tied for third with St. Francis with 71 points. West Seneca West was the champion with 97 points followed by Olean with 89 points.
In the girls team standings, Falconer finished with 58.50 points while West Seneca West won again with 104.83 points and Pioneer was a distant second with 63 points.
Fisher and Falconer teammate Dillion Johnson combined to win the triple jump relay with a distance of 78-3. Johnson had a 37-10 to go along with Fisher’s winning 40-5.
Tareek Hannold of Falconer was the winner in the 100 with a 11.5 clocking.
Johnson, meanwhile, tied Aaron Granger of Pioneer for first place in the high jump at 5-8.
Lechandre Mix captured the high jump for the Falconer girls with a 5-2 leap and combined with teammate Baileigh Carter (4-8) to win the high jump relays with a 9-10.
Carter also took the triple jump with a 32-2 and combined with teammate Rhea Moore, who had a 28-4, for an overall 60-6 for first place.
Wright and Falconer teammate Samarie Waddington had a 28-7 distance for second place in the long jump relays. Waddington had a 13-7 to go along with Wright’s first-place 15-8.
Alyssa Brooks of Falconer won the discus with a toss of 108-5.
Wright, Waddington, Taylor King and Amber Micek of Falconer came in third with a time of 54.4 in the 400 relay.
