Police Conduct Two Busts In City, Four Charged

The Jamestown Police Department and investigators from the New York State Police conducted two raids in the city early Friday morning, culminating in four arrests and the seizure of a large quantity of drugs.

At approximately 6:15 a.m., investigators and members of the JPD SWAT team executed three search warrants at three separate apartments in a building located at 14 W. Ninth St.

Inside, a quantity of heroin, crack cocaine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia and cash were seized.

John Carlos Tufino, 21; Wilfredo Hernandez Jr., 31; and Ashlyann Lopez, 20, all of Jamestown, were taken into custody.

They were each charged with two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, fourth-degree criminal possession of marijuana and criminally using drug paraphernalia.

All three are currently in city jail awaiting arraignment. Hernandez is currently on parole for a prior robbery conviction.

At the same time, investigators and the JPD SWAT team made entry at a 616 Lafayette St. apartment where they found a loaded .32 caliber semi-automatic pistol.

Bryan A. Willis, 22, of Dunkirk was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

Willis is on parole for a prior weapons possession. He is currently in the city jail awaiting arraignment.

According to the JPD, additional charges are expected as the investigation continues.

“We will continue to aggressively approach this issue and continue to make arrests and execute search warrants at this pace,” said Captain Robert F. Samuelson, division commander of the Jamestown Police Department.
