Little Angels Animal Sanctuary To Hold Fundraiser

LAKEWOOD – A local fundraiser aims to get area residents into the Easter spirit.

The Little Angels Animal Sanctuary, a nonprofit animal rescue focused on rabbits and small pets, is hosting a fundraiser at Tractor Supply Company, 201 E. Fairmount Ave. in Lakewood, on Saturday, April 12, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The event will feature a visit from the Easter Bunny, adoptable rabbits and a professional photographer who will be available to capture photographs for a small fee. The sanctuary will be accepting donations to help with spay and neuter fees as well as purchasing cages and feed for rescued animals.

According to Paula Murdock-Briggs, president of the Little Angels Animal Sanctuary, the majority of the animals the group adopts are pets that owners no longer want.

“We also get called to rescue animals that were pets but have been set free,” Murdock-Briggs said. “We go to livestock auctions and will buy rabbits if it looks like they were pets.”

Little Angels Animal Sanctuary is a small, nonprofit animal rescue based in Sherman that began in 2008. The sanctuary operates as a 501(c)(3) organization and all donations are tax-deductible.

The basic adoption fee for a neutered rabbit is $60.
