Ethel A. Towne
SOUTH DAYTON – Ethel A. Towne, 96, a re-tired cafeteria manager for Pine Valley Central School, where she worked for many years, died Thursday, April 3, 2014, at the Gowanda Rehab and Nursing Center, Gowanda, N.Y.
Ethel worked summer pack for CB Foods in South Dayton, for a number of years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and the Pine Valley Rebecca Lodge, and a past member of the South Dayton Fire Bells.
She is survived by her daughter, Carol A. (Lawrence) Martin of Victor, N.Y.; her son, Harold H. (Lori) Towne of Akron, N.Y.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was born June 7, 1917, in Silver Creek, N.Y., the daughter of the late Lewis and Olive Schindler.
Funeral services will be held Monday, April 7, 2014, at 11 a.m. in the Hills Funeral Chapel, 478 Balcom Corners, South Dayton, N.Y. Pastor Becky Ward of South Dayton United Methodist Church, will be officiating. Burial will be in the Villenova Cemetery in South Dayton.
Visitation will be held at the funeral chapel on Sunday from 2-5 p.m.
