Michael E. Sisson

FREWSBURG – Michael E. Sisson of Frewsburg, N.Y., went home to be with his Lord in heaven on Thursday, April 3, 2014.

He was born Oct. 2, 1955, to Grace Shearman Sisson and the late Maurice E. Sisson.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 34 years, Ruth Adams-Sisson; his daughter, Kymrie (Derric) McElheney of Olean; his brothers: Randall of Frewsburg, Thomas (June) of Jamestown, Daniel (Trisha) of Frewsburg, and John (Cara) of Wawaka, Ind.; and a large extended family.

He was a 1975 graduate of Frewsburg High School. Immediately upon graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and proudly served his country for four years at Luke Air Force Base, Arizona.

After his honorable discharge in 1979, most of his employed years were devoted to the emergency medical service Chautauqua County Ambulance Service from 1981-83, Hill Ambulance Service in Puyallup, Wash., from 1985-87; a return to CCAS until 1988; and then WCA Services Corp. from 1988 to 2011, where he became assistant EMS operations manager of the ALSTAR Dunkirk Division.

Between 1991 and 2001 he served two terms as a councilman and one term as the town supervisor for the town of Carroll. He was a life member of the Frewsburg Volunteer Fire Company, where he was a past assistant chief and a past president. He was a member of the Frewsburg Alliance Church, where he served on the administrative board, and as the church’s sound technician. Michael was also known for making many weddings memorable with his golden voice and his music.

Friends will be received from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, April 6, at Peterson Funeral Home in Frewsburg. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 7, at the Frewsburg Alliance Church, 60 Falconer St., Frewsburg.
