Heath’s Blast Helps Bonnies Trim Buffalo

Bret Heath (Jamestown/Jamestown) slammed a 3-2 pitch over the left-center field fence at Fred Handler Park for a three-run home run in the first inning to help St. Bonaventure (5-16) break an eight-game losing streak with a 6-4 victory over the University of Buffalo.

The blast was Heath’s first home run of his college career and allowed Asa Johnson (Jamestown/Frewsburg) to earn his first save of the season. Johnson faced only one batter and got a double play to end the second game.

In the opener, Kyle Grey (Frewsburg/Frewsburg) suffered a 4-3 loss to Buffalo. Grey gave up the tie-breaking run in the seventh inning after the Bonnies had overcome a 3-0 deficit.
