Ryan N. Kelley

Ryan N. Kelley, 59, of Maple Street, Bemus Point, died at 7:19 a.m. Sunday (March 30, 2014), in WCA Hospital.

He was born Sept. 12, 1954, in Jamestown, the son of Jerry and Ginny Crandall Kelley.

A 1972 graduate of Maple Grove Central High School, he was also a graduate of Jamestown Community College and earned a bachelor’s degree from Gannon University.

Prior to retiring he had been the owner/operator of Kelley’s Marine Service on Keuka Lake, N.Y. In earlier years, he had worked at Smith Boys Marina in Ashville, and had been employed as a counselor at the Gustavus Adolphus Home. Following his retirement, he had been self-employed serving and repairing boats.

He was an active member and volunteer with both the Ellery Sno Cruisers and with the Lawson Boating Heritage Center in Bemus Point.

Raised on Chautauqua Lake, he had a great love for the lake, and particularly the Bemus Point area, where he had many friends. He was always the first to offer assistance and advice of any kind to anyone in need. An avid reader, he liked to hunt, fish and play golf.

Surviving are his wife, Joan Goldstein Kelley, whom he married in 2008; two daughters: Tara (Ger-son) Kelley and Tatum Kelley, both of Orlando, Fla.; a grandson, Blake Quiliche of Orlando, Fla.; a brother, Mike (Deb) Kelley of Jamestown; and a sister, Kathy (Dennis) Raynor of Bluffton, S.C.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
