Conservationist Addresses Lakewood Rotary Club

LAKEWOOD – Chautauqua Watershed Conservancy conservationist David Anderson addressed the Lakewood Rotary on March 13. Anderson spoke about the organization’s efforts to educate the public on land and watershed conservation. The CWC, organized in 1990, is dedicated to preserving and enhancing the water quality, scenic beauty and ecological health of the lakes, streams and watersheds of the Chautauqua region.

CWC’s three conservationists work with homeowners, landscapers, developers, contractors, and governmental entities to preserve and restore the waterways and watersheds of the Chautauqua region by to promoting best land management practices.

To date, the CWC has led efforts resulting in the conservation of more than 730 acres of land across Chautauqua County and 2 miles of shoreline around Chautauqua Lake. The Chautauqua Watershed Conservancy is a private, nonprofit charitable organization. For more information, visit or call 664-2166.
