Mayville Seniors Plan April 19 Zoo Trip

MAYVILLE – On March 20, 31 members of the Mayville Seniors met for lunch at the VFW dining hall. Joyce Ayers welcomed everyone. Bill Tornstrom gave the blessing and Sandy Anderson called the table numbers. Hot dogs and fixings were a surprise but a welcome addition to the casseroles and salads.

Kitchen committee of Louise Richir, Dolly Gilbert and Fran Miller were thanked for taking care of food and cleanup. Wanda Gustafson announced a driving class will be May 6-7 with a cost of $20 for AARP members and $25 for nonmembers. The course will be held at the VFW. Times will be announced.

Joyce Ayers announced Easter dinner April 19, a Saturday, and Kent Knappenberger will speak.

Heritage Village employees Doug Justham and Gretchen Lindell gave a talk on the apartments and small houses available in Gerry. Assisted living or skilled nursing care pictures were shown. They spoke of freedom from chores at home, independent living and help in selling one’s home.
