Southwestern Board To Meet

The Southwestern Central School Board of Education will meet Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in the Board of Education room. The purpose of the meeting is to conduct school business. The public is invited to attend.

Food Truck To Change Dates

ASHVILLE – The Food Bank of W.N.Y. Food Express Truck delivery to the Ashville United Methodist Church is changing beginning in April. This change is being made to make it more sustainable and economical for the Food Bank of W.N.Y. Deliveries will now be received on the fourth Tuesday of every month (April 22) and not the first Tuesday as in the past. At the present time it is unknown at what time the food truck will be open for the free food to be distributed within the area. Once the new schedule is available it will be printed in The Post-Journal.

Historical Society To Meet Tuesday

SINCLAIRVILLE – The Valley Historical Society will hold its first meeting of the year at the South Stockton Wayside Chapel on Route 380 in South Stockton on Tuesday at 7 p.m. The historical society meets on the first Tuesday of each month. At this meeting, the annual maple sugar party will be held. All those attending are asked to bring a small bowl and a spoon in which to stir the warm maple syrup until it turns into sugar. Dues for 2014 will be collected, and the printed program of events will be available to all. New members are always welcome.

AARP To Hold Pot-Luck Meal

SALAMANCA – Members of the Salamanca AARP Chapter 844 will enjoy a pot-luck luncheon at their regular monthly meeting on Wednesday at noon at the Salamanca Senior Center, 18 Main St., Salamanca. Coffee and tea will be provided. Members should bring their own table setting, a dish to pass and other beverages of choice.

Career Fair

Set For Tuesday

Lutheran Jamestown is hosting a Career Fair on Tuesday from noon-4 p.m.at 715 Falconer St. in the Lutheran Home and Rehabilitation Center. Staff will be available to answer questions and host tours. There will also be light refreshments and prizes. Career opportunities include full-time and/or part-time positions for direct caregivers for seniors and child care counselors for G.A. Family Services’ youth programs. Anyone interested in maintenance, food service or housekeeping should stop by. There are also a few per diem positions in Activities, Social Work, Occupational and Physical Therapy and in clerical work. Lutheran offers an excellent benefit package. Spring Tree Orders End Monday

The Cattaraugus County Soil & Water Conservation District is accepting orders for the 2014 Spring Tree & Shrub Bare Root Seedling Sale. Several species of conifers, hardwoods, shrubs and berries are available, as well as assortment packets for reforestation, wildlife and erosion control. Orders are accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis until Monday. Seedlings will be distributed in April.
