To Show ‘Frozen’

FREWSBURG – The Myers Memorial Library will have a special movie day today. Frozen, a Disney animated movie, will be shown at 3:30 and 6:30 p.m. in the library’s community room. Bluegrass Jam Set For Thursday

LAKEWOOD – Lakewood Legion Post 1286 at 174 Chautauqua Ave., Lakewood, will be hosting a Bluegrass Jam on Thursday from 7-10 p.m. The kitchen will be open from 6-9 p.m. with snack menu and specials. Jules R Us karaoke will be playing on Friday from 7:30-10:30 p.m. Dinners will be served from 5-9 p.m. All members and guests are welcome; please sign in.

Parks Commission To Hold Meeting

The Chautauqua County Parks Commission will hold its monthly meeting on Thursday at the Chautauqua County Airport in Jamestown at 7 p.m. The public is invited to attend.

‘God Is Not Dead’ Talk Saturday

“God is not Dead (but atheism is a dead-end)” will be presented at the Jamestown Prendergast Library on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. On the heels of the movie, “God’s Not Dead,” Power of the Cross Ministries will feature local speakers, including Pastors Jeff Short and Mel McGinnis, in making the case for the existence of God and how atheism is ultimately a dead-end. Jamestown High School football’s mattress fundraiser sale will be held Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Jefferson Middle School cafeteria.

Pet?Loss Group To Meet

The Chautauqua County Humane Society sponsored Pet Loss Bereavement Group meets Tuesday, April 1, from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at the James Prendergast Library, 509 Cherry St., Jamestown, in the second-floor conference room. The group is facilitated by Roberta Thompson, MSW; Maggie Irwin, LMSW; and Jennifer Morse, RVT, and meets the first Tuesday of each month.

Family History

Center Is Open

The Family History Center, 851 Forest Ave., Jamestown, is open each Wednesday from 7-9 p.m., Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and other times by appointment; call 245-4601. The public is welcome. Free access to ancestry.com is available.

Randolph Nursery Accepting Families

Registrations are currently being accepted for the 2014-15 school year at the Randolph Area Nursery School, sponsored by the East Randolph United Methodist Church, 122 Church St. The school follows the calendar of the Randolph Central School and will be held two days a week, two hours per day.
