Joan ‘‘Joanie’’ M. Fiorello
RANDOLPH, N.Y. – Joan ”Joanie” M. Fiorello, 71, of 12557 Bowen Road, Randolph, N.Y., died at 10:55 a.m. Friday, March 21, 2014, at Roswell Park Cancer Institute, where she was surrounded by her loving family.
She was born May 7, 1942, in Salamanca, N.Y., the daughter of Milburn and Ruth Young McElwain.
Joan graduated from Randolph Central School in 1960. She was employed at MRC/TRW(SKF USA) Aerospace in Falconer, retiring in 2000.
She was a member of Grace Episcopal Church in Randolph, Randolph Women of the Moose Lodge 2273 and the UAW 388.
Her door was always open for Sunday dinners and swimming in the family pool. Her greatest joy was having a house full of family and friends. Joanie will be forever remembered by her numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Fiorello, whom she married Feb. 12, 1972; three daughters: De-borah Bradley of Jamestown, N.Y., Denise Luce of Frewsburg, N.Y., and Louise (Mark: Flynn Wax-haw, N.C.; two sisters: Lois Upson and Leona Wagner of Cookville, Tenn.; eight grandchildren: Heather (Roberto) Pantojas of Jamestown, N.Y., Alex and Autumn Bradley of Jamestown, N.Y., Celeste Luce of Virginia Beach, Casey Luce of Frewsburg, Jaiden Flynn, Ashton Flynn and Daimon Flynn, all of Wax-haw, N.C.; three great-grandchildren: Gavin, Madelyn and Aislynn; and also several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter, Donna Schobey in 1962, a son-in-law, Bradley Luce; and a sister, Phyllis Damiano in 1995. The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. Mon-day (March 24, 2014), in the VanRensselaer & Son Funeral Home, 14 Church St. Randolph, from where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2014. Burial will be In the Randolph Cemetery in Randolph, N.Y.
