CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE
SILVER CREEK – Stephanie A. Edwards, 25, of Silver Creek, and Lulu M. Kohler, 71, of Forestville, were involved in motor vehicle accident Wednesday. At approximately 2:50 p.m., Edwards and Kohler were traveling southwest on Main Street. Edwards stopped to make a left turn onto Babcock Avenue. Kohler was distracted by a vehicle on the northside of the roadway and did not see Edwards’ vehicle. Kohler rear-ended Edwards’ vehicle causing significant damage to Edwards’ vehicle and minor damages to the front of Kohler’s vehicle. Edwards was transported to Lake Shore Hospital by Silver Creek EMS for minor injuries. Kohler was released with a traffic ticket for following too closely.
CATTARAUGUS COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE
FRANKLINVILLE – Katherine M. Loomis, 26, of Franklinville was charged Wednesday with fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property and petit larceny. At approximately 11:40 a.m., deputies arrested Loomis from an incident that took place on Feb. 6 involving a stolen benefit card. Loomis was transported to Franklinville Court for arraignment. She was then transported to the county jail in lieu of $300 bail. Loomis is due back in court on April 7 at 7 p.m.
OLEAN – Darryl V. Myers, 42, of Olean was charged Wednesday with fifth-degree welfare fraud, petit larceny and first-degree offering a false instrument for filing. Myers failed to report his income from scrapping to Cattaraugus County DSS. He received $795.40 in cash assistance and SNAP that he was not entitled to from October 2013 to March 2014. He will appear in Olean Court on April 1 at 9 a.m.
LITTLE VALLEY – Thomas C. Farner, 23, of Little Valley was charged Wednesday on a bench warrant. At approximately 5:30 p.m., Farner was apprehended by New York State Police during a traffic stop on Route 394 in Coldspring. Farner was wanted on a bench warrant from East Otto Court. He was transferred to the custody of Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office and remanded to Mansfield Court. He was then remanded to the county jail in liew of $500 bail.
RANDOLPH – Dale R. Wagatha, 31, of Napoli was charged Wednesday with third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Wagatha was arrested on a county supreme court warrant. He was transported to county jail and is awaiting arraignment.
FRANKLINVILLE – Matthew G. Bellaus, 21, of Franklinville was charged Wednesday with fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property and petit larceny. At approximately 11:40 a.m., deputies arrested Bellaus from an incident that took place on Feb. 6 involving a stolen benefit card. Bellaus was transported to Franklinville Court for arraignment. He was then transported to the county jail in lieu of $300 bail. Bellaus is due back in court on April 7 at 7 p.m.
NEW YORK STATE POLICE
ELLERY – Kelly E. Kaczar, 23, of Bemus Point was charged on March 12 with aggravated driving while intoxicated, texting while driving, misuse of dealer plates and moving from lane unsafely following a motor vehicle accident on Belleview Road. The accident investigation revealed that Kaczar had been texting on her cellphone immediately prior to leaving the roadway, with her vehicle coming to rest in a ditch. After field sobriety tests, Kaczar was placed under arrest and transported to State Police in Jamestown where a blood alcohol content of .19 percent was obtained. She will return to Ellery Court at a later date. Kaczar was released to a third party.
