Russian Dinner Set For Saturday
The Perm Mission Network will be hosting its annual authentic Russian dinner fundraiser at Levant Wesleyan Church in Falconer at 6 p.m. Saturday. The dinner is being prepared by six Russian teachers from Perm, Russia, who are currently visiting Western New York this week, and the proceeds will go toward hosting next year’s group of teachers. The Jamestown Board of Education will meet tonight at 5 p.m. in the Superintendent’s Conference Room for a special meeting. The public is invited to attend.
Jefferson Open House Thursday

STERA?Meetings To Be?Held
SALAMANCA – Southern Tier Extension Railroad Authority will hold meetings on Thursday. These meetings are a rescheduling of canceled meetings that previously were to be held on March 10. STERA will hold a meeting of its Audit Committee, Governance Committee, Executive Committee and board of directors at 2:30 p.m. in the Main Conference Room in the office of the Southern Tier West Regional Planning Board in the Center for Regional Excellence at 4039 Route 219, Suite 200 in Salamanca. Meeting agendas for all STERA Board of Directors and committee meetings, along with all documents to be discussed at the meetings, can be found on the STERA website, which is www.ccasstera.org. All of these meetings are open to the public.
Ripley Board?To Meet Thursday
RIPLEY – A regular meeting of the board of education of the Ripley Central School District will be held on Thursday at 6:30 p.m., in the Elementary Library, of the Ripley Central School, for the purpose of any and all items that come before the board. The public is invited to attend.
Falconer Seniors To Meet Monday
FALCONER – Falconer Senior Citizens will meet for an ice cream social on Monday at 1 p.m. The cost is $2 per person. Ann Moren, president, called a recent lunch meeting, attended by 45 members, to order with a flag salute and prayer. New members Lorna and David Byerly were welcomed. Lucius and Muriel Casas, Rose Cresanti, JoAnn Capizzi, Fran Bishop, Joe and Dolly Chemera were interviewed by Mary Racitano, each giving a history on where they came from. Celebrating birthdays were Theresa LaPlaca, Rose Germonti, Ann Moren, Lory and Angie Muscarella. Discussion was on a casino trip. Incentive winners were Mary Pinzone, Ms. Moren, Ms. Capizzi, Joe Chimera and Mary O’Boyle. Carole Swain and Connie Storms closed the meeting.
Pancake Supper Set?For Saturday
ELLINGTON – The Farman Free Library in Ellington will host a pancake supper on Saturday from 4:30-7 p.m. in the Community Room at the library. Dinner includes all-you-can-eat pancakes, real maple syrup, sausage, fruit, ice cream and beverage. The cost is $7 for adults, $3 for children 5 to 12, and children under 5 are free.
