Parking Fees Discourage Business

To the Readers’ Forum:

Regarding the Feb. 2 article by Greg Lindquist and Peter Lombardi – ”Paying Dearly for Free Parking,” what we have here is a ”failure to communicate.” If these folks really believe parking meters will contribute to Jamestown’s revitalization, perhaps they also feel paid parking would benefit the Jamestown airport. Parking fees do not attract business – they discourage business.

We need people like Sam Walton to strive to develop business – not bureaucratic technocrats to create more interference in peoples lives. There are no parking meters at WalMart.
