Quentin Lee Schurman

Quentin Lee Schurman, 54, of 8414 Brownell Road, Clymer, passed away Wednesday March 12, 2014, at Saint Vincent Hospital, Erie, Pa.

He was born in Corry, Pa., on Oct. 1, 1959, a son of the late Raymond John Schurman, who died July 26, 1999 and Audrey June (Akam) Schurman, who died June 1, 2006.

Quentin was a Clymer Central School graduate class of 1979. Quentin owned and operated Windrush Dairy Farm until 2011. He also drove school buses for Panama and Clymer schools, was a cook for the Lakewood Legion, most recently worked for White Brothers Dairy, and was a partner in Schurman’s Service and Repair with his son, Orry.

Quentin enjoyed playing softball and basketball, and coached the Panama Midget football team. He enjoyed hunting, maple sugaring, dancing with his wife, cutting wood, spending time with grandchildren, family and friends.

Quentin was an avid fan of Gunsmoke, Bonanza and football. He was a volunteer in the Clymer Fire Department and a member of the Lakewood Legion.

Quentin was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.

He is survived by his wife, Jody (Newman) Schurman, whom he married Aug. 20, 1983; two children, Nicole ”Gick” Schurman and Orry “Orvs” Schurman; three grandchildren: Timathy White, Emma Schurman and Grace Schurman; two brothers: Eugene (Carol) Schurman and Jerrold (Debby) Schurman); three sisters: Juanita (Paul) Holthouse, Colleen (Archie) Harrower and Capri (Wayne) TeCulver; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, March 15, 2014, at the Abbe Reformed Church, Clymer, N.Y., where a service will be held at 1 p.m., with Pastor Dan Prewitt, officiating.
