Kindergarten Roundup Set

Bethel Baptist Christian Academy, 200 Hunt Road, Jamestown, will be holding Kindergarten Roundup on Friday. Roundup will begin with registration at 12:45 p.m. and will include a visit to the kindergarten classroom, refreshment time, and presentations on curriculum and the school’s philosophy of education. There will also be a question-and-answer time with Melissa McEntire, kindergarten teacher. Activities for the afternoon will end at approximately 2 p.m. Anyone interested in attending is asked to bring their child with to enjoy the activities that are planned. GERRY – The Gerry Senior Citizens will meet on Friday in the United Methodist Church promptly at noon for their monthly luncheon and program. Those attending are asked to bring a dish of food to pass and their own table service. New members are always welcome.

Legion Post 777 To Hold Breakfast

The Herman Kent American Legion Post 777, 26 Jackson Ave., Jamestown, will hold its monthly breakfast from 8:30-11:30 a.m. Sunday. The post will serve its full breakfast buffet with scrambled eggs, ham, sausage, French toast, gravy, biscuits and danish as well as three-egg omelets. The cost is $6 a person. All post members, friends and guests are welcome.

Outdoor Club Plans Kite Day

RUSSELL, Pa. – On Sunday, the Allegheny Outdoor Club will hold its first Kite Flying Day beginning at 1 p.m. at the Windy Knoll home of Debra and John Young at 1588 Townline Road, Russell. Participants can bring their own kite or they can build their kite on-site with materials provided by kitemasters John Shinaberger, Michael Muntz and Debra Young. Hot dogs and buns will be provided. Kiteflyers should bring a side dish to share. This event is open to the public. Interested children are encouraged to bring their parents.
