CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

PORTLAND – Kelsie R. Briggs, 21, of Dunkirk was charged Tuesday with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, unlicensed operation, failure to keep right and uninspected motor vehicle. At approximately 2:15 a.m., deputies stopped a vehicle on Webster Road for an observed traffic violation. Upon investigation, it was determined that the driver – Briggs – was operating the vehicle on suspended driving privileges for numerous suspensions. Briggs was later released and will appear in Portland Court at a later date.

PORTLAND – Leon A. Hoesel, 60, of Mayville was charged Sunday with speeding, driving while intoxicated, DWI per se and unlawful possession of marijuana. At approximately 7:37 p.m., deputies on Route 20 observed a vehicle operating at a high rate of speed. After stopping the vehicle, deputies determined that the driver – Hoesel – was operating his vehicle in an intoxicated condition. He was also found in possession of a small quantity of marijuana. Hoesel was released with tickets and will appear in Portland Court at a later date.

REGIONAL DRUG TASK FORCE

CHERRY CREEK – Kimberly D. Albares, 43, of Dayton was charged Monday with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance. At approximately 3:10 p.m., the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office and Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force located Albares at her residence. It was alleged that Albares sold quantitys of prescription narcotics to an agent of the task force. She was arrested without incident and arraigned in Chautauqua County. Albares was committed to the Chautauqua County Jail without bail pending further action from the court. The arrest culminates a three-month investigation into prescription narcotics sales in Cherry Creek.

VILLENOVA – Brian J. Lycett, 42, of Dayton, was charged Monday with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance. At approximately 2:50 p.m., the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office and Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force arrested Lycett at his residence. It was alleged that Lycett has sold quantities of prescription narcotics from a Villenova residence on numerous occasions. He was arrested without incident and arraigned in Chautauqua County. Lycett was committed to the Chautauqua County Jail without bail pending further action from the court. The arrest culminates a three-month investigation into prescription narcotics sales in Villenova.

NEW YORK STATE POLICE

SHERIDAN-Devon L. Wilson, 19, of Dunkirk, was charged Monday with fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property. Wilson was attempting to sell the stolen items, which had been taken in a burglary, to the Pawn Starz in Sheridan. He was processed by Fredonia Police and will appear in Sheridan Court on March 20.
