Jack ‘‘Grandpa’’ Erickson
Jack ”Grandpa” Erickson, 80, of 110 W. 3rd St., Jamestown, N.Y., born Oct. 24, 1933, passed away at his home on Saturday, March 8, 2014.
He had been employed by Knights Vaneer and as a driver for the Amish community.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents; four siblings; and his partner, Velva McKillip.
Jack loved to fish and care for horses. He had many friends and was well-known for helping anyone in need. He enjoyed having coffee with his friend, Sue at U.S. News on West Third Street. He loved to laugh and pull a good prank.
He is survived by his caregivers: his grand-daughters: Vicki Gene (Jeff) O’Laughlin of Jamestown, and Tina (Bill) Pike of Ashville; his stepson, James (Edie) McKillip of Jamestown; and his best friend, Larry Abers of Jamestown. He is also survived by several stepchildren, grand children and great-grand- children.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Hotel Jamestown. Pastor Mark Emke will offici-ate.
