JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT
Fred Levy, 34, of Jamestown was charged with third-degree assault on Sunday at 7:07 a.m. Officers responded to Bowen and Peach streets for subjects fighting, and made contact with a female victim who reported that Levy allegedly came to the residence and struck her in the face, causing her injury. Levy was taken into custody and transported to the city jail. Levy also had seven outstanding city court bench warrants for his arrest and was arraigned and remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail, police said.
Joshua Perez, 29, was charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated driving while intoxicated and failure to use headlamps on Saturday at 1:07 a.m. Jamestown Police officers allegedly observed Perez traveling north on Prendergast Avenue without use of head lamps. After conducting a traffic stop, an investigation determined Perez to be under the influence of alcohol, police said. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Jamestown City Jail where he was awaiting arraignment.
Joel Evinczik, 28, of Jamestown was charged with no headlamps, driving while intoxicated and driving with a blood alcohol content greater than .08 percent on Saturday at 1:11 a.m. Evinczik was allegedly seen traveling south in the area of North Main Street at Second Street without adequate headlamps and subsequently stopped for the violation. Evinczik was found to be operating the vehicle in an intoxicated condition, police said, and was placed under arrest. He was processed at the Jamestown City Jail and will appear in court at a later date.
Rodney Bostic, 26, of Jamestown was charged with felony third-degree criminal mischief, second-degree unlawful imprisonment and criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation on Saturday at 2:48 p.m. Jamestown Police responded to a Holman Street address for a reported domestic incident, and upon arrival officers allegedly learned that Bostic had a physical domestic incident with a female victim at around 9 a.m. inside the residence. Bostic allegedly pushed the female victim and pinned her against a wall to prevent the victim from leaving the residence. During this incident, Bostic also grabbed the victim by the neck and applied pressure, impeding the breathing of the victim. The victim was able to leave the residence and went to a Vega Street address. Bostic allegedly came to the Vega Street address and damaged the victim’s vehicle. He was taken into custody after he returned to Holman Street later in the evening without incident. He was held in Jamestown City Jail pending arraignment.
Andrew Bennett, 24, of Jamestown was charged with endangering the welfare of a child on Sunday at 3:20 p.m. Officers responded to the area of McDaniel Avenue for an unsupervised young child running in and out of traffic, and upon arrival, officers located a 2-year-old child inadequately dressed and unsupervised, police said. Officers were able to located the defendant allegedly asleep in his residence. He was transported to the Jamestown City Jail and was held pending arraignment.
Ryan Christensen, 35, of Jamestown was charged with driving while intoxicated and operating a motor vehicle with inadequate headlamps on Sunday at 3:30 a.m. Jamestown Police stopped Christensen for having one headlight at 473 Prendergast Ave., and further investigation allegedly found that he was intoxicated. Christensen was placed under arrest and transported to the Jamestown City Jail where he refused a chemical test. He is being held on $250 bail at the city jail for DWI.
LAKEWOOD-BUSTI POLICE DEPARTMENT
BUSTI- Michel Watson and Jimmy Schauers Jr., both of Jamestown, were charged with petit larceny on Saturday at 9:13 p.m. It is alleged that items belonging to Wal-Mart were stolen. Both were issued an appearance ticket to appear in Busti Court at a later date.
