Mina Business Total Loss After Fire

MINA – Jack’s Repair Shop was a total loss after fire spread through the business Saturday afternoon.

The Findley Lake Fire Department responded to a call around 4 p.m. of a structure fire at 9994 Bailey Hill Road.

Nobody was inside the structure at the time of the fire.

“The tin on the building was hampering the fight a little bit,” said Randy Hamilton, Findley Lake Fire Department assistant chief.

Hamilton said crews were battling the fire for about five hours and county fire investigators remained at the scene into the night.

Crews from Clymer, Sherman, Ashville, and Ellery Center in New York as well as North East, Greenfield Township and Wattsburg in Pennsylvania assisted at the scene. Panama remained on stand-by.

Hamilton said the business was a complete loss but a nearby home was not damaged by the fire.

The cause was undetermined as of Saturday night.
