Busti Officials Going To Training
BUSTI- Busti has sent two of its officials to receive training.
The town board approved the request for Kenneth Lawton, councilman, and Darlene Nygren, clerk, to attend newly elected officials training. Brett Mucheck, councilman, wasn’t able to attend due to a conflict.
Lawton brought the training up after last meeting. He suggested the board receives more training on how it conducts business in the town and its meetings. However, he said, they should continue to look for more training opportunities.
“I encourage you to look for other training options about how we involve the entire board in decisions and how we communicate with people who attend them,” he said.
The board also approved the request for Nygren to attend the New York state Town Clerk’s Association annual conference from April 27-30 in Saratoga Springs.
In other news, Melvin Peterson, highway superintendent, regretfully announced the retirement of Tim Young, who worked with the town for 21 years.
The board will discuss a law for Sediment and Erosion Control in concern with Chautauqua Lake at the next meeting after the board has time to look it over and review it.
