Annual Randolph Academy Fashion Show Held
RANDOLPH – The seventh annual Randolph Academy cosmetology fashion show was held recently at the Randolph Central School Auditorium in Randolph. The show featured the work of Randolph Academy cosmetology students who displayed their talents in hairstyling, make-up and nails. In addition, students from the academy modeled the latest fashions in gowns and tuxedos.
“The fashion show is the highlight of the year for the cosmetology program, and the students look forward to getting dressed up and looking and feeling really nice,” said Susan Jackson, director of the Randolph Academy cosmetology program. “It’s an opportunity for the students to show our guests what they’ve learned and get on stage in a tuxedo or gown – something they’ve never done before. It gives them a chance to shine and feel special.”
The cosmetology program at Randolph Academy teaches students about the profession of cosmetology, as well as what job opportunities are available in the field. Students in the program learn and practice various hands-on cosmetology activities, including hair cutting, hair styling, braiding and waxing techniques. In addition to teaching technical skills, the program places an emphasis on life skills, communication skills and goal setting.
The Randolph Academy is a public special act school district with campuses in Randolph and in Hamburg. The academy provides an intensive, quality education for special needs students. It offers therapy, counseling and behavior management as well as a full 12-month academic program.
