Patrick D. Nolan

Patrick D. Nolan, 43, of 5512 Broadway Road, Bemus Point, died unexpectedly Tuesday, March 4, 2014.

An area resident all of his life, he was born Dec. 28, 1970, in Jamestown, a son of Thomas and Nancy Nolan.

He was a 1989 graduate of Maple Grove High School, where he participated in football, wrestling and track. He then went on to graduate from Alfred State College, where he was a member of Si Delta Omega Fraternity, played rugby and excelled in wrestling. He was inducted into the Alfred State Hall of Fame for wrestling: having achieved All-American status. He traveled to Eu-rope as a member of the U.S. Junior National Wrestling team.

He was employed by Cement Finishers and Allied Craftsman Union, Local 111 in Buffalo.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and ac-tively supporting his children in various sports. He was an avid fisherman and hunter.

Surviving are his wife Heather Nolan (Verbosky), whom he married June 3, 1995; four children: Howie, Brody, Meghann and Erin Nolan, all at home; his father, Thomas (Gail) Nolan of Jamestown; his mother, Nancy Nolan of Jamestown; brother, Chris (Shawna) Nolan of New City, N.Y.; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert and Susan Verbosky of Gerry; sister-in-law, Jenni (Dean) Vaillancourt of Jamestown; brother-in-law, Brad (Christy) Verbosky of Stafford, Va.; nephews: Connor and Luke Nolan, Daren and Jacob Vaillancourt, Sean and Ethan Verbosky; niece Julia Verbosky; and grand-mothers: Anne Bugman of Shreveport, La., and Ruth Clark of Sheffield, Pa.

He was preceded in death by grandparents: Robert Bugman, Joseph Clark, Lois and Howard Nolan and George and Blanche Verbosky; and uncles: James Nolan and David Bugman.

The funeral will be held at 4 p.m. Friday in Bemus Point United Methodist Church. The Rev. Bill Al-len will officiate.

Friends will be received from 1-4 p.m. Friday in the church.

A private burial will be held in the Bemus Point Cemetery.
