A two-car accident in Jamestown sent both drivers to WCA Hospital and caused significant damage to a building Tuesday afternoon.
Tammy Nuse, 40, of Jamestown was driving her white 2001 Dodge Stratus eastbound on Superior Street at 12:22 p.m. when she t-boned a green 2008 Ford Fusion being driven southbound on Forest Avenue by a 30-year-old Jamestown man. The force of the impact sent the Fusion into Superior Hair Design at 343 Forest Ave.
“We’ve got some serious injuries here,” Capt. Todd Isaacson of the Jamestown Police Department said at the time of the accident, further noting that the Stratus would be impounded for inspection.
A witness said Nuse could be heard repeating, “I couldn’t stop,” as she was pulled from the vehicle.
“Utterances like that usually indicate brake failure,” Isaacson said. “Charges will align after further investigation of inspection.”
Nuse was charged with failure to stop at a stop sign, reckless driving and not wearing a seat belt. She will appear in Jamestown City Court later this month.
Both drivers were transported to WCA Hospital via Alstar Ambulance. No one was hurt inside Superior Hair Design.
Jamestown Police and Fire departments also responded to the scene.
Both vehicles were totaled in the accident.
