Bessie Lindell Hannahs

Bessie Lindell Hannahs passed away Feb. 20, 2014, at the Extended Family Care Home in Tucson, Ariz.

She was born in Ivory, N.Y., on Dec. 28, 1916 to Mr. Andrew Lindell and Mrs. Delia Anderson Lindell.

Bessie attended Edinboro University, Edinboro, Pa., and Fredonia State Teacher’s College in Fredonia, N.Y., where she earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in teaching. She taught and administrated schools for many years in these areas. After retiring, Bessie and her husband, Richard Hannahs moved to Tucson, Ariz., where she remained active substitute teaching, serving with the Pima County Retired Teachers Association, and in various groups within her church.

Bessie is survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A celebration of Bessie’s

ife will take place at Catalina Methodist Church in Tucson, Ariz., on March 15, at 10 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, Bessie asked that donations be sent to the heart fund or Catalina Methodist Church.
