Two Jamestown Men Charged With Harmony Arson

HARMONY – Two Jamestown men, charged with setting fire to a cabin in Harmony last fall, appeared in Harmony Court on Monday.

According to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, Travis Switaj, 20, and Mick Peterson, 22, broke into a cabin – located at 5532 Burron Valley Road – on Nov. 8, 2013. Fire investigators believe a fire was intentionally set after Switaj and Peterson set items on fire and left the scene. The cabin, along with all of its contents, was lost in the fire.

Following a three-month investigation, Switaj and Peterson were eventually charged with second-degree arson, third-degree burglary and second-degree criminal mischief.

Both were released after posting bail.
