Two Flown To Erie After Sherman Crash
SHERMAN – Drivers of two vehicles were flown to Erie, Pa. hospitals after a head-on collision early Saturday morning in Sherman.
The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Department responded to a two-car serious personal-injury accident on Pelton Road in Sherman at 2:32 a.m.
Both drivers were seriously injured and had to be removed from their respective vehicles with the Hurst tool. The drivers were flown to UPMC Hamot, one by Starflight and the other by Stat Medivac. A passenger in one of the vehicles was also taken to UPMC Hamot by ambulance.
The Sherman Volunteer Fire Department was assisted by the South Ripley and Mayville fire departments.
The sheriff’s accident reconstruction team is investigating the accident.
