CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

BROCTON – Marcus D. Reed, 24, of Brocton was charged Tuesday with second-degree harassment. At approximately 3:15 p.m., Reed was charged for allegedly grabbing hold of another individual and pushing him up against a wood stove. Reed continued to threaten and push the victim until a third party was able to stop him. Reed will appear in court at a later date.

PORTLAND – Brittney N. Paulus, 29, of Dewittville was charged Thursday with driving while intoxicated, blood alcohol content of .08 percent or greater, speed not reasonable and failure to keep right. At approximately 12:03 a.m., deputies responded to a report of a single vehicle crash on Plank Road. Paulus was operating a 1999 Ford Explorer southbound when she crossed over the northbound lane and left the roadway on the east side. The vehicle rolled over. Investigation revealed that Paulus was traveling at an unsafe speed in icy conditions and was intoxicated. Neither her nor her 25-year-old passenger were injured. She was transported to the Sheriff’s Office and will appear in Portland Court at a later date.

JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

Tatiana M. Lopez, 19, of Jamestown was charged with second-degree assault. At approximately 5:34 p.m., officers responded to the area of 4 Hazzard St. for a fight in progress. Upon arriving, officers determined that the fight was between two sisters. It was alleged that Lopez struck her sister in the back with a golf club several times. The victim did have a visible injury to her upper back. Lopez was taken to the city jail.

WESTFIELD POLICE DEPARTMENT

Edward R. Eaker, 28, of Dunkirk was charged Tuesday with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and no/inadequate lights. At approximately 1:50 a.m., police stopped a vehicle on East Main Street for driving without headlights on. Further investigation revealed that Eaker’s driving privileges in New York had been suspended. Eaker is due back in court at a later date.

NEW YORK STATE POLICE

KIANTONE – Stanley P. Barton, 66, of Jamestown was charged Tuesday with second-degree obstructing governmental administration and unlawful possession of marijuana. After a traffic stop for using a handheld mobile device on Riverside Road, Barton was transported to State Police Jamestown for processing. He was also issued traffic tickets for operating a motor vehicle on a public highway while using a mobile phone and obstructed plate. He will appear in Kiantone Court at a later date.

COLLINS – Robert Bargy, 49, and Joshua Ross, 25, both of Falconer, were charged Wednesday with petit larceny. The two men reportedly stole $150 worth of cigarettes from the Iroquois Smoke Shop on Route 438 in Gowanda. Troopers from Collins and Falconer were able to track the two down to the Jamestown area as the investigation unfolded, and picked them up on the warrants. The two were processed in Collins, arraigned in Collins Court and sent to the Erie County Holding Center on $5,000 cash bail.
