CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

FREDONIA – Bryan J. Postolowski, 27, of Fredonia was charged Tuesday with fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property. At approximately 3 p.m., deputies took Postolowski into custody for buying merchandise from Wal-Mart in Fredonia with a stolen credit card. The card is believed to be the same card stolen from Portland on the same day. Postolowski was arraigned in Fredonia Court and remanded to Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of $15,000 cash/$30,000 property.

CATTARAUGUS COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

DAYTON – Dale A. Sandy, 35, of South Dayton was charged Feb. 13 with driving while intoxicated, DWI over .08 percent, reckless driving, third-degree unlawful fleeing a police officer, speed over 55 mph, speed in zone and failure to observe an emergency vehicle. At approximately 10:45 p.m., deputies observed Sandy’s vehicle traveling 101 mph on Route 322. When deputies tried to stop him, Sandy led them on a high-speed pursuit through South Dayton and into Chautauqua County. He was eventually stopped on Route 39 in Hanover. Sandy was taken to Persia Court for arraignment and remanded to Cattaraugus County Jail in lieu of $1,000 bail. He is due back in court at a later date.

EAST OTTO – Joseph R. Swift, 33, and Donielee L. Chyreck, 43, both of East Otto, were charged Saturday with endangering the welfare of a child. At approximately 6 p.m., a patrol responded to a domestic incident where it was determined both parties were engaged in an altercation in the proximity of children. Both are due back in court at a later date.

OLEAN – Lisa A. Struble, 46, of Olean was charged Feb. 13 with fourth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. At approximately 7:25 p.m., Struble was picked up by police for a Superior Court warrant. She was dropped off at Cattaraugus County Jail for further proceedings.

OLEAN – Ralph B. Neasman, 41, of Buffalo was picked up by deputies Friday on a Superior Court warrant. He was taken to Cattaraugus County Jail for further proceedings.

NEW YORK STATE POLICE

KIANTONE – Michael Thompson, 36, of Jamestown was charged Monday with unlawful possession of marijuana. After a traffic stop on Route 60 for a passenger with no seat belt, state police detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from Thompson’s vehicle. A search by K-9 Kubi yielded approximately 3 grams of marijuana inside. Thompson will appear in Kiantone Court at a later date.

ELLERY – James W. Ray, 33, of Geneva, Ohio, was charged Saturday with unlawful possession of marijuana and no seatbelt. During a traffic stop on Interstate 86, state police detected an odor of marijuana. Further investigation revealed that Ray was in possession of marijuana. Ray will appear in Ellery Court at a later date.

KIANTONE – Dean J. Sandstrom, 51, of Frewsburg was charged Monday with unlawful possession of marijuana. During a traffic stop on Route 60, troopers, assisted by K-9 Kubi, found marihuana in the vehicle. Sandstrom will appear in Kiantone Court at a later date.

RANDOLPH – Kyle J. Provateare, 19, of Orange Village, Ohio, was charged Sunday with unlawful possession of marijuana and failure to stop at stop sign. Following a traffic stop for failure to stop at a stop sign on Route 394, state police determined that Provateare was in possession of 12 grams of marijuana. He will appear in Randolph Court at a later date.

GERRY – Walter L. Whitfield, 37, of Cincinnati, Ohio, was charged Monday with unlawful possession of marijuana. After a traffic stop on Route 60, troopers noticed a strong odor of marijuana and found Whitfield to be in possession of marijuana. A computer check showed him to have a suspended driver’s license for failure to answer a summons. Whitfield was arraigned in Stockton Court where he posted bail. He is to appear in Gerry Court at a later date.
