A car with little traction in a driveway caught fire Tuesday afternoon on the outskirts of Jamestown.
The Fluvanna Volunteer Fire Department responded to the intersection of West Oak Hill Road and Pleasant View Drive around 1:20 p.m. to a report of a car fire. Jerry Raab, Fluvanna assistant fire chief, said the owner of the vehicle got stuck trying to get up the driveway and the car overheated causing a fire in the engine compartment.
Nobody was injured in the fire, which gutted the vehicle including both front tires.
The Gerry Volunteer Fire Department and Ellicott Police Department assisted at the scene.
