Lipsey Joins Lawson Boating Center Board Of Trustees

The Lawson Center recently announced David I. Lipsey has been elected to the board of trustees.

Lipsey was raised in Bemus Point and grew up on Chautauqua Lake. A graduate of Jamestown Community College, Lipsey attended Western Kentucky University. He served four years in the United States Air Force, including a tour of duty in Vietnam.

For more than 25 years, he has been the owner of the Lipsey Insurance Agency. For the past 10 years, Lipsey has been chairman of the board at Chautauqua Patrons Insurance Company and has served as a director for 34 years.

Lipsey is the deputy mayor of the village of Bemus Point and serves on the town of Ellery Youth Recreation Board. He has been a driver for the Red Cross blood drive for 20 years.

Lipsey is the father of four grown daughters and has six grandchildren.

Other members of the Lawson Center’s board include: Anthony Hopfinger, president; David Wesp, vice president; Joseph Mitchell, treasurer and Patricia Baldwin, secretary; Merl W. Baldwin Jr.; David Bargar; David Graper; David S. Lawson Jr.; and William Locke.

Founding trustees emeriti are: William R. Reynolds III, Andrews S. Robinson and Marlin Younker.
