Sandbloom’s Accuracy At Foul Line Sends Trojans To OT Win

Mike Sandbloom’s poise at the foul line helped push Southwestern (6-12) past non-league opponent Panama (9-6) at Jamestown Community College on Saturday evening in the final game of the regular season.

“Mike went 5-for-5 from the foul line in the fourth quarter and hit three of those shots with three seconds left, and then went 3-of-4 in overtime,” Southwestern coach Andy Krenzer said.

Shooting from the charity stripe was key for the Trojans, who hit 25 of the 32 shots they attempted.

Sandbloom ended the game with 16 points and four assists and was aided by a team-high 18 points from Jack Carlson. Riley Rybicki added nine rebounds and six steals.

Leading the way for Panama were Dan Odell with 19 points and Bryce Payne with 12.
