Firm Adds Two To City Office

The principals of Schaffner, Knight, Minnaugh & Company, P.C. recently announced the addition of two new professionals to its Jamestown office: Karen Schuler, CPA, and Staci Whittenhall.

Schuler, CPA, joined the firm as a tax manager. With more than 25 years of experience, she works with clients in the matters of corporate tax, partnership and individual tax as well as small business consulting. Schuler graduated magna cum laude from St. Bonaventure University where she earned a bachelor’s in business administration in 1988. She also acquired her CPA designation in 1991. She is a member of the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

With more than six years of experience, Whittenhall joined the firm as an administrative assistant. A graduate of Jamestown High School, she earned her associate degree in business administration and accounting with high honors from Jamestown Business College. She is also a notary public commissioned in Chautauqua County.

Peterson Among Those Honored

Twelve attorneys from Phillips Lytle LLP were honored by the New York State Bar Association for their pro bono work under the auspices of the Empire State Counsel Program.

Established in 2006, the Empire State Counsel Program gives special recognition to NYSBA members who perform 50, or more, hours of pro bono service during the calendar year.

Phillips Lytle attorneys cited for the pro bono work include: William D. Christ; Spencer L. Durland; Chad W. Flansburg; Lawrence W. Gallick; Timothy W. Hoover; Myriah V. Jaworski; Kenneth A. Manning; Susan M. Marriott; Gregory L. Peterson; Jennifer A. Shah; William J. Simon; and Geanne M. Zanatta.

These attorneys are from Phillips Lytle’s Buffalo, Jamestown and Rochester offices.

In 2013, Phillips Lytle donated more than 2,473 hours of free legal assistance to individuals and non-profit organizations that would not otherwise be able to afford attorney services.

Doctor Joins Local Office

Dr. Hussein Ali-Ahmad, board certified in internal medicine and medical oncology will be joining Jamestown Medical Oncology Hematology, a Roswell Park Cancer Institute Community Cancer Practice.

Ali-Ahmad completed his fellowship training at the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center.

Ali-Ahmad will be working with Dr. Ibabao and RPCI Oncology, PC cancer team.
