Man Behind City Vehicle Chase Charged
The 24-year-old Jamestown man who led police on a high-speed vehicle chase through the city last month was charged Wednesday morning.
According to the Jamestown Police Department, Bryan E. Bobe was taken into custody after being released from a medical center in Rochester. Bobe was injured after crashing into another vehicle on Foote Avenue, the culmination of a several-minutes-long pursuit through the south side of Jamestown that occurred on Jan. 20.
Police say Bobe started to flee as officers attempted a traffic stop on Forest Avenue, observing his high speed and inadequate exhaust. He reportedly ran multiple red lights and stop signs, and even tried to run his vehicle into patrol cars multiple times.
Bobe was charged with 15 separate charges including two felony counts of first-degree reckless endangerment, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, reckless driving, speed not reasonable, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle and nine other traffic charges.
He is currently awaiting arraignment in the Jamestown City Jail.
